Jerry L. talked us up today and really put the message forward that there are a lot of great potential living spaces on the square in Canton.  Currently there are 4 families living on the square, us, one over subway, one over Fletchers, and one over Hammontree’s R.J. Barrel and Co. restaurant.  If anyone wants more info on living on the square and how to do it, reply to the posts and I’ll help you out.

The lights are on now and there were families out playing on the square late into the evening.  The balconies have been decorated and the lights turned on… It is quite a sight from our balcony.  We also are in a mad rush to get our store front set up and ready for fridays big kick off for the Victorian Christmas festival.  Stop by and see us.  We have a lot of antique christmas items too. Look for santa on a rocking horse, and frosty, they’ll be up on our balcony… Here’s some pictures.

Currently there are two other apartments that people are living in on the Canton square.  There is one other apartment that i know of that is ready to live in, and I don’t think it is occupied so it may be available if anyone out there is looking for a cool apartment on the historic courthouse square in Canton Mississippi.

PBS Kids raising readers story share in Canton MS Nov. 14 2009.  Since we have a 3 year old, we will be attending, and thought other folks might like to know about this.  The event will be from 10am til noon on Saturday the 14th at Union Street Books on the square in Canton MS.  There will be guest readers, a special appearance from a kid’s favorite, and more.

Halloween in Canton was fun.  I dressed as Captain Pratt who built the 172 W. Center Street building on the square.  Sharon dressed as Annie Hossley who built Heart’s Content Bed and Breakfast over 100 years ago.  This is what we looked like…

Good thing we are comfortably moved in to the apartment, our bed and breakfast, Heart’s Content, is fully booked for the next two days.  I’ll follow up with some pictures of the square at flea market time.  It will be cool to watch the flea market happen from the second story balcony!!  Plus, we have a food vendor right out front of the building, so we won’t have to go too far if we don’t want to.

So we are still in the final stages of renovation, but we have enough done to start moving in.  We have a bunch of furniture moved in, thanks Clayton!  The pugs are in, so you’ll be seeing them on the square alot now.  The music on the square shuts off at midnight, so that’s good to know.  We are still figuring out the kitchen, so I’ll post pictures of the progress as we move along.  The owls are still out in force.  The first night, they were very close, and I heard them hooting throughout the night, it was very cool.
